Senior Data Scientist

Venari Security is looking for a colleague to add experience and expertise to our growing Data Science team. Our ideal candidate would have at least 4 years of experience working with Data Science in an established development team. You will have a track record of bringing products to market.

Qualifications:

• Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on product development.
• Strong experience using statistical computer languages (Python 3.x, SQL, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from very large data sets.
• Expertise in Python libraries TensorFlow, SciPy, NumPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch, pandas
• Knowledge and experience in statistical and data-mining techniques: GLM/Regression, Random Forest, Boosting, Trees, Natural Language processing.
• Expertise in a variety of machine learning techniques (for example, clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks) and their real-world applications
• Expertise in advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests, and proper usage).
• Experience with distributed data/computing tools and techniques, such as Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Gurobi, MySQL.
• Familiarity in using Git and related tools in Data Science workflows.
• Experience visualizing/presenting data for stakeholders using: Periscope, Business Objects, D3, ggplot, etc.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across the company.

Responsibilities:

• Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging the company’s cybersecurity data to drive innovation.
• Help to mentor other members of the Data Science team with expertise, industry experience, and best practice.
• Assist and guide the cybersecurity team to solve complex issues and optimise code quality
• Mine and analyze cybersecurity data to drive optimization and improvement of product development and detection
• Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
• Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.
• Develop A/B testing framework and test model quality.
• Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.
