Description:

As well all know that the Novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has spread in more than 210 countries and has already killed more than 198,000 population. In order to support the fight of Tunisia with novel coronavirus, TIPCS is launching a rapid response mechanism to help decision makers in Tunisia to formulate, implement, monitor and asses public policies that address community’ impacts of COVID-19. From providing social aids to launching digital transformation to support SME, TIPCS’ rapid response’ Wednesday Seminars Live Series are open to all the Tunisians, anywhere in the world, starting today.
TIPCS Wednesday Seminars Live Series, COVID-19 Emergency Response Program offers professionals from different sectors opportunities to express their concerns through high-quality virtual exchange components, including / essentially online Seminars, Massive concerns’ expression / solutions’ suggesting and demands presentation gathering, live online events, Open Resources (OR), and a Community of Practice (CoP). This project is funded by the TIPCS Economic Studies’ Department (ESD), the TIPCS and its partners. We are seeking an IT Officer to support program operations including implementation of live online events and collaboration with ESD to develop and manage a social media strategy.

Essential Job Functions:

The IT Officer is a member of the Program team reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and collaborates extensively with the Technical team and ESD to ensure high quality implementation of live events grounded in best practices in TIPCS, as well as coordination of social media activities that increase positive interactions with program stakeholders encouraging exchange within the professional (and non professional – citizens) community. Specific responsibilities include:

– COVID-19, Wednesday Seminars (WS) Live Series:

  • Develops calendars and work plans for WS Live Series implementation;
  • Coordinates the vetting and selection process for series topics in close collaboration with the Chief Executive Officer and ESD, including revising or creating Call for Proposals, reviewing proposals, and corresponding with selected presenters;
  • Prepares consulting agreement documentation, liaising with internal units such as finance and contracts;
  • Monitors the deliverables specified by consulting agreements to ensure that WS Live events are consistently high-quality and are representative of current and relevant approaches to TIPCS;
  • Provides technical assistance, including training presenters and providing feedback on rehearsals;
  • Coordinates all aspects of Live session implementation in close collaboration with the Chief Executive Officer and ESD, including facilitating and moderating, and providing support for all digital platforms including but not limited to Zoom, Facebook, captioning services, PowerPoint, etc.;
  • Develops attendance quizzes using survey software and tracks results in order to coordinate the issuance of digital badges and preparation of reports for ESD and partners.

– Your tasks:

  • First and second level support, on site and remotely
  • Ensuring the operation in terms of backup, access management and IT security
  • Updating and plausibility check of the security solutions deployed (ex. Firewall, virus protection, password policies)
  • Installation, configuration and administration of the hardware and software environment (including Windows 10, Windows Server, Windows Active Directory, Linux Server, Network Printer)
  • Regular network maintenance (eg, switching, IP routing, VPNs) and updates
  • Writing documentation and constantly improving our processes
  • Advice on IT equipment of new office space and assistance with office relocation
  • Planning and implementation of additional features of the Microsoft Office 365 platform (e-mail archiving, MS teams, authorization concepts)
  • Acquisition of IT equipment (asset management), support in the planning of requirements and procurement of hardware & software, as well as software licenses

– Social Media

  • Coordinates and monitors the activities of consultants hired to post content to and moderate interaction on social media sites such as ESD at TIPCS Facebook page and the ESD at TIPCS YouTube channel;
  • Upon request, may design, implement, and develop work plans for oversight of new social media channels for the WS program;
  • Supports the promotion of content, including but not limited to boosting posts, running ads after events, etc.;
  • Contributes to the development of strategies promoting active community engagement, encouraging exchange among the WS Live Series community;
  • Provides technical assistance, editing and providing feedback on graphics and videos designed and created by consultants and/or overseeing the design and creation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ideally an apprenticeship as an IT specialist for system integration or application development or a degree/student in computer science or comparable
  • Minimum of experience in IT support
  • A good knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, knowledge of AzureAD and SharePoint Online are an advantage
  • Knowledge of the administration of Windows systems, Microsoft Office 365, IP networks, DNS systems, web servers / web hosts are an advantage
  • Reliable and solution-oriented
  • Communicative team player with a structured working method
  • Good written and spoken English knowledge

– Desired Skills:

  • Experience working as an English Language speaker or other study/work abroad experience is a privilege.

– Typical Physical Demands:

  • Typical office environment. Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time; ability to lift 2-22 Kgs.

Travel Requirements:

During the COVID-19 pandemic and the general health preventive’ confinement imposed by the Tunisian authorities on the Tunisian territory, all travels are avoided.
The position is fully remotely, until a new order / change in the state of public health in Tunisia.
