FHI 360 is currently recruiting for the position of National Coordinator for the USAID Ma3an program. Ma3an is a five-year (September 2018 – August 2023) Ma3an project, implemented by FHI 360, which works with 33 communities in 15 governorates across Tunisia.

USAID Ma3an’s program goal is to increase youth participation in civic and political life, address youth grievances, and prevent radicalization in Tunisian communities vulnerable to violent extremism.

To achieve this goal, Ma3an applies a community-driven model for preventing and countering violent extremism and seeks to advance two objectives:

    1. Objective 1: Youth are equipped with skills and engaged in civic actions with local actors to address their communities’ needs and grievances (Positive Youth Development – PYD).
    2. Objective 2: Tunisian capabilities to prevent and counter violent extremism (VE) are enhanced (Preventing/ Countering Violent Extremism – P/CVE).

Scope of Work:

The National Coordinator will be working closely with the CNLCT “Commission Nationale de Lutte Contre Le Terrorisme” and Ma3an P/CVE advisor and specialist. He/She will assist the CNLCT in coordinating efforts with Ma3an team to implement the national P/CVE strategy and serve as a liaison between the committee and Ma3an within the framework  of the mutual partnership ensuring all the activities implemented at the national level and in the regions are aligned with the Committee’s P/CVE strategy and Ma3an objectives. 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the organization and coordination of activities as outlined under the partnership between the CNLCT and Ma3an and liaise with Ma3an P/CVE team.
  • Facilitate the collaboration between the different governmental institutions, the CNLCT and Ma3an to consolidate efforts.
  • Assist the CNLCT in organizing and conducting the different P/CVE activities at the national and regional level.
  • Coordinate with the regional representatives of the CNLCT and ensure regular communication between the national and regional level.
  • Contribute  to the drafting of reports  on the different activities of the project.
  • Provide technical input and advise on the design of the activities in consultation with the CNLCT and Ma3an.
  • Work closely with the CNLCT and Ma3an to make sure that activities are aligned with the overall objectives of the project.

Requirements

  • Hold a master’s degree in public administration or any other relevant field.
  • Have 5 years of relevant experience working with civil society and governmental institutions
  • Prior experience working on P/CVE or/and Conflict Resolution.
  • Fluent in Arabic, French both writing and speaking. English proficiency is a plus.
  • Familiarity with international organizations is preferrable.
  • Dynamic team player with good interpersonal and networking skills.
