Enlightenment: Address the skills/knowledge deficit within S&B Software development community by conducting workshops & Meetups around various topics including the Microservices Architecture, DevOps culture and practice, Reactive Paradigm & Functional Programming and Modern Data Management Practices & Architecture.
Standardization: Keep up with the technology advancement and contribute on specifying the right technical standards and organizational processes that push forward Scheidt & Bachmann
Cross-divisional development: Development of Common Code and Common Components to set up the basics for synergy between divisions and establish one-house standards. Under this activity, we are having two agile team working on the following projects:
The Program Manager Project: While The Microservice architecture style is widely adopted in the backend to achieve flexibility in development and operation, most frontend solutions are still running as a monolithic application. The Program Manager project is the next generation frontend composition framework in Scheidt & Bachman that aims to address where multiple software pieces, based on different web technologies can be combined in one software solution.
The Configuration Management Project: The current S&B systems provide extensive sets of parameters to allow the systems to be configured in conformance with the requirements of a particular project/client. The Configuration Management System (a.k.a Houston) is an ecosystem of software services, development tools and processes that aim to improve Scheidt & Bachmann software delivery pipeline starting from development, configuration, release management, validation and operation.
