The RLS – Tunis library aims to contribute to the political education of the left wing activists in the intellectual and political current of democratic socialism, and to offer access to the new critical theories of the left, in relation with social analysis, political and economic education.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

-Performs work that requires full professional knowledge of the theories, principles, and practices of librarianship to select, organize, preserve, access, manage, and disseminate information associated with the RLS library;
-Performs technical services functions including acquisitions, procurement, cataloging/classification, physical processing, and accountability of materials.
-Assists chief librarian in overall management of the library;
-Work independently in completing assigned tasks accurately and in maintaining standard correspondence, files, and reports of the library.
-Establish and maintain filing systems;

Minimum Required Qualifications: 

-Tunisian national;
-Identification with the goals of the RLS;
-Degree in archival studies; social sciences with relevant experience could also be considered;
-Civic and social engagement could be an asset;
-Physical demands: Ability to continuously stand or walk; Ability to lift up to 10 Kg frequently; Ability to squat occasionally.
-Between 1 and 3 years of relevant work experience;
-High degree of self-organization;
-Strong communication skills, self-initiative, flexibility;
-High proficiency in computer operations with MS Office Software, especially Excel; Skills in Database management;
-Very good knowledge of written and spoken Arabic, English, and French;
