NGINX Software, Inc. is building the applications to help millions of our loyal users do more with their NGINX servers, and we are currently searching for a Technical Writer/Information Developer to join our global headquarters in San Francisco. You will have a major hand in creation and development of online documentation for NGINX’s new control plane applications. Our control plane products make it easy for customers to improve the performance, reliability, and security of their applications. You will apply your talent, knowledge, skills, and experience to develop customer-facing content for applications, internal documentation, and online articles.

Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain user documentation for NGINX Controller, third-party integrations, and open source projects
- Assist in the writing of online technical articles and white papers
- Collaborate with product management, engineering, and user experience to develop required content
- Prioritize time and needs to meet goals, roadmap commitments, and production deadlines
- Participate in the continuous delivery of releases using a lean, agile process
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in writing technical and user documentation
- Highly technical or computer literate – coding skills aren’t required, but an understanding of enterprise software, as well as a conceptual understanding of software and the people who use it are a must
- Understanding of software development principles
- Previous experience writing documentation for an enterprise software company, and/or products around infrastructure, IT operations, DevOps, or developer tools
- Experience with structured documentation models (e.g. DITA, XML) or formats such as Markdown
- Excellent written English skills
- Experience and understanding of Git or other version control systems
- Experience using ticketing systems such as JIRA
- Familiarity and understanding of automated build pipelines
- Secondary education and/or experience in IT is a plus
- Basic knowledge of Unix-like systems and web technologies
