Position Summary
The Sales Channel Manager is responsible for the direct and indirect sales of MGI’s NGS Sequencing business and automation in the North Africa region. This position will be responsible for developing sales strategies and tactics that achieve the revenue goals of the assigned regions. The candidate is preferably located in North Africa.
Responsibilities
- Seeking out new customers and distributors for driving revenue in the North Africa region.
- Develop, implement and monitor the regional business plan to meet the assigned target of revenue and strategic objectives.
- Achieve the quarterly and annual sales and profit plan as assigned.
- Accurately forecast customer demand (i.e. product quantities and dollars, orders, shipments).
- Build long-term relationships with Key contacts at target customers.
- Use various lead generation tools to enhance the lead pipeline
- Update the CRM system and manage the sales pipeline by reporting opportunity evolution and probabilities.
- Initiate promotional events for the company
- Represent the company at trade events
- Follows company guidelines/practices/policies and provides timely development plans to correct for underperformance.
- Responsible for ensuring that MGI’s commitment to customer satisfaction is performed, delivered, and constantly improved.
- To drive a high level of interaction and engagement between other departments (e.g., Marketing, Customer Solutions) and local sales team & staff to ensure coordination of activities and alignment on common goals.
Experience & Skills
- Master’s degree or above in a related field.
- Excellent sales experience in the Life Science Capex industry.
- Strong technical background in genomics, genetics is required.
- Strong communication skills to internal and external audiences.
- Problem solving and customer-centric attitude.
- Patience and the ability to tactfully handle customer negotiations
- English and French-speaking required. Arabic is a strong plus.
