Working in close proximity to key decision-makers, we have played an active role in consulting the majority of international and domestic actors for the past two years. Our client base ranges from governments to INGOs, all the way to private sector clients such as IOCs and law firms. We are now expanding our team in order to grow our footprint in the market for information on Libya. Duties and Responsibilities of the Intern

The main duties that the intern will be expected to carry out are:

• Assist in the research and design of reports, briefing notes, and other deliverables;
• Assist in the organization of conferences, workshops or other events;
• Prepare relevant communications materials (brochures, website content, social media materials etc.);
• Collaborate on the development and execution of online content (images, infographics, videos, blogs etc.) and campaigns delivered across various social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative research on Libya (media analysis, business developments, conflict monitoring, etc.);
• Provide research, writing and editing support on issues related to the resources that are part of the LIBYA DESK™ portfolio;
• Contribute to design and implementation of initiatives, investigations and resources (reports, maps, articles, newsletters, etc.);
• Contribute to the creation of new LIBYA DESK™ resources and products;
• Provide administrative support on an as-needed basis;
• Other relevant tasks as deemed necessary by the management team;

Technical/Functional Competencies:

• Excellent writing skills, as well as strong analytical aptitude and strong communication skills;
• Ability to manage workload with minimum supervision and collaborate with colleagues to meet & exceed deadlines;
• Entrepreneurial spirit: the ability to take initiative and propose innovative solutions to business challenges;
• Excellent interpersonal skills: being able to listen and collaborate with a wide range of players, being able to work independently, being proactive and taking initiative;
• Be able to work both independently and as part of a team;
• Essential computer proficiency: Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Slides); MS Office; Mailchimp or other newsletter providers.
• Preferable computer proficiency: Website Hosting Tools (Squarespace, Shopify, Stripe, etc.) Social Media Management Tools (TweetDeck; Buffer), Productivity tools (ClickUp, Zapier, Trello); Basic knowledge of HTML or other coding languages a plus.
• Experience in law / consulting / grant writing / fundraising a plus.

Required Skills and Experience

Applicants must at the time of application meet ONE of the following requirements:

• be enrolled in a second university degree programme (Master Degree)
• be enrolled in the second, third, or final academic year of a first university degree programme (Bachelor Degree)
• have graduated with a university degree

… in fields such as Law, Economics, Finance, Business Administration, International Relations, Politics, Media Studies. Other relevant experience is welcome and will be considered.

Languages:

• Fluent in English with excellent reading and writing skills.
• (optional): working knowledge of Arabic & French

Financial Issues

This internship is unpaid for the duration of 3 months. A per diem will be provided to cover reasonable expenses. The internship is remote and the selected candidate is not required to commute or attend a fixed location.
