Job Position Overview:

We are looking for a hardworking, intelligent, and ambitious Entrepreneurship officer with a passion for startups, technology and projects that involve entrepreneurial activity and in a variety of technological sectors. Through this role, the ideal candidate will be able to support our company activities in research and innovation projects that involve entrepreneurial action.
The Entrepreneurship Project Officer will be a member of the Gravity Ventures Incubator and work actively in the design, planning, and implementation of the company’s management and entrepreneurship strategies and activities.

Responsibilities:

• Manage innovation and entrepreneurship project activities including development of Business Plans and Financial Analysis of start-up and spinouts.
• Identifying opportunities for innovation and entrepreneurship projects.
• Assist in mapping of opportunities for start-up creation.
• Assist in the preparation of reports and start-up’s strategy implementation
• Assist in the investment capital budgeting expenditure planning processes.
• Analyze and synthetize information for implementation of project activities and coordinate tasks with implementing partners.

• Prepare inputs to project reports, presentations, briefs
• Developing and sustaining solid relationships with company stakeholders and customers.
• Collecting and analysing all required data related to business needs.
• Compile data into a digestible planogram, and ensure that all data is accurate and properly organized.
• Recruiting, training, and guiding business development staff.
• Providing insight into product development and competitive positioning.
• Analysing financial data and developing effective strategies to reduce business costs and increase company profits.
• Conducting market research to identify new business opportunities.
• Collaborating with company executives to determine the most viable, cost-effective approach to pursue new business opportunities.
• Provide advisory and mentoring support to existing / established enterprises on business planning, budgeting and record keeping.
• Consolidate and compile monthly, quarterly and annual reports, inclusive of success stories and lessons learnt

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business entrepreneurship, business administration, marketing, or related field. Master’s degree in Business Entrepreneurship (MBE) will be preferred.
• Able to take initiative and generate ideas.
• Proven experience working as a business development and/or Entrepreneurship officer or similar roles.
• Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and management skills.
• Exceptional negotiation and decision-making skills.
• Effective communication skills.
• Strong business acumen.
• Detail-oriented.
