Job Title: Mechanic IIReports To: 

Field Supervisor or Field Mechanic Lead

Position Summary

Intermediate level position mechanic that provides moderate level mechanical work on gas compression equipment located in a plant or field location. Comprehensive mechanical, diagnostic and analytical skills needed to provide excellent customer service. Performs maintenance overhauls and emergency services as needed. Requires moderate production equipment knowledge. Performs work in a safe manner. Capable of making sound financial decisions when making repairs on equipment. Performs other tasks as needed or requested. May work independently with minimum supervision in some cases.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Provides preventive and corrective field mechanical service on gas compression equipment on site at client locations
• Maintains proficiency to accurately and efficiently diagnose most mechanical problems
• Installs and performs overhauls on assigned units
• Knowledge on electrical systems (i.e. panel boards, skid wiring, etc.)
• Possesses moderate level of production equipment knowledge
• Maintains and grows customer relations
• Represents company in a professional manner
• Adheres to all company and government safety regulations
• Attends required HSE meetings
• Submits work orders promptly
• Maintains accurate record keeping
• Works independently with moderate supervision
• Manages time and schedule
• Willing to assist mechanics
• Satisfies all training requirements
• Cleans and paint units
• Maintains company owned vehicle in a clean and presentable manner
• Responsible to emergency maintenance calls – 24/7 coverage

Required EducationPreferred Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3 years of compression process, production and equipment related experience and/or training
• Possess thorough knowledge of compressor packages including all component and systems

Required Experience & SkillsPreferred Experience & Skills

• Valid Drivers License
• Read, write, speak and understand basic English
• Customer Service orientation
• Working knowledge of relevant HSE procedures and regulations

• Requires employee to frequentl type and use a computer and other office equipment, such as copier, printer, calendar, telephones, etc.
• Requires operation of heavy equipment, such as forklift on a rare frequency
• Requires employee to stand for at least 75% of the time
• Requires employee to sit for at least 25% of the time
• Requires employee to constantly climb stairs or ladders to inspecting, repairing and painting equipment and must be able to maintain balance on stairs or ladders without assistance.
• Must be able to communicate and respond to: coworkers, customers and emergency cues/alarms, in person and on the telephone, including use of mobile devices
• Must be able to frequently lift at least # 5pounds
• Requires work in outdoor conditions, including Extreme heat, extreme cold, unairconditioned facility, snow, standorms,sun exposure, strong wind
• Requires work on loud environment
• Requires moving and maintaining self in different positions stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
• Must wear all required PPE, including fire-retardant clothing, helmets, face shields, hearing protection, safety goggles, steel-toed boots, as applicable.
• Position requires travel 10% of the time
• Position requires employee drive 25 % of the time, 5% permanent in one location
