• Coordinate the execution of two key areas of EITI’s Global Conference: the national expo and the speaker’s corner.
  Speaker’s corner:
  
  • Develop a request form for pitches.
  • Develop a speaking guide for confirmed speakers to follow.
  • Confirm participation and notes with all speakers.
  • Scheduling and follow-up with all speakers.
  • Coordinate and brief moderators for each session.

  National expo:

  • Work closely with communications and logistics teams as well as venue staff to coordinate stands, materials and setup of 57 country stands for EITI implementing countries.
  • Follow-up with representatives of each country concerning their stand and support needed.
  • Manage setup and problem solve during the event.

• In addition to the work with the Global Conference, the Assistant is envisaged to provide support on other aspects of the Global Conference. This is likely to include but will not be limited to:
  • Maintaining lists of registered participants and liaising with country teams in the EITI International Secretariat on registrations.  
  • Support to the organisation of various aspects of the Conference, for example an academic stream, side events and/or Chair awards.

• As part of the communications team, the Assistant may also be requested to support on other tasks related to the communications work of the International Secretariat.

Required qualifications and experience:

• Relevant university degree or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of work experience in event planning, ideally in an international setting.
• Experience of working in an international environment and demonstrated ability to produce communications materials that are sensitive to a range of national and linguistic settings.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members, while retaining the ability to act independently.
• Highly organised approach to the working environment and to meeting project deadlines.
• French language skills. 

Desirable skills and experience:

• Experience working with remote teams in a diverse range of settings. The role will require regular contact with stakeholders in a wide range of countries and time zones.
• Experience and/or understanding of the extractive sector.
• Spanish or Russian language skills.
