JOB DESCRIPTION

CrossBoundary is recruiting a full-time Associate to be part of our Advisory team based out of Tunis, Tunisia. We are seeking candidates with experience working in Tunisia or the broader North Africa region, contacts across the region’s financial services sector, and an understanding of the investment landscape in the region.

CrossBoundary is not a development firm and is not seeking typical development skills. As an Associate, you will be tasked with evaluating investment opportunities, conducting macroeconomic and markets assessments, and providing transaction support to both investors and capital seekers. Associate candidates should have 4-6 years of experience working in high caliber finance or consulting organizations and experience working in developing countries. Experience working with a range of stakeholders (including private equity firms, Development Finance Institutions, and development agencies) to support investments in high impact sectors, as well as experience and background in North Africa, will be regarded favorably.

We will consider candidates looking for 2-3 year commitments as well as those who want to build a long-term career with our firm.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• * Market assessment and ongoing market analysis
• * Conduct macroeconomic, regulatory, and operational assessments
• * Provide sector analysis of priority areas for investment
• * Company identification and evaluation
• * Identify and rigorously assess investment opportunities
• * Transaction support
• * Assist, and often lead a team in supporting due diligence and complex transactions execution
• * Prepare presentations with business plans, explanation of management structure, competitive landscape, and financial projection to recommend strategies
• * Develop valuation activities and detailed financial models, including sensitivity analysis and stress testing
• * Investor qualification and relations
• * Assist in identifying qualified investors
• * Manage numerous investor relationships

QUALIFICATIONS

Required skills and qualifications:

* 4-6 years of experience in top tier banking, consulting, private equity, or similar
* Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or other advanced degrees will be regarded favorably
* Strong quantitative skills and finance background; familiarity with company evaluation and valuation
* Excellent analytical ability and discipline; ability to think clearly, structure problems logically, and then design and implement solutions that focus on the core issues
* Excellent presentation skills; ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse audiences
* Strong sense of ownership and ability to lead projects and support and mentor more junior colleagues
* Excellent presentation skills; ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse audiences
* Familiarity and comfort with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
* Comfort operating in a Business English environment

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

* Experience working in developing countries; experience in Tunisia or the broader North Africa region is particularly relevant
* Familiarity with company fundraise process, including investor due diligence processes
* Ability to build strong relationships with partners and colleagues in challenging environments
* Experience working with a range of stakeholders (including private equity firms, impact investors, family offices, Development Finance Institutions, and development agencies) to support investments in high impact sectors
* Willingness to work and live in sometimes challenging environments, and travel when needed
* Fluency/proficiency in French and/or Arabic

LOCATION

• Tunis, Tunisia (frequent travel is expected)
