UI / UX Web Designer

Mission

Helping students and teachers online is at the core of what we do. Great design (UI) and user experience (UX) should be at the forefront of everything we do. We are currently looking for a talented experienced designer to envision how people experience our products and bring that vision to life in a way that feels inspired, refined and even magical. As Web Designer for Apprentus, you’ll take on complex tasks and transform them into intuitive, accessible and easy-to-use designs that our users around the world will love. Achieving this goal requires collaboration with teams of Product Managers, Researchers and Engineers throughout the design process (from creating user flows and wireframes to building user interface mockups and prototypes). At each stage, you will anticipate what our users need, advocate for them and ensure that our product strategy will surprise and delight them.

Preferred qualifications:

• ● Bachelor’s degree in Design (interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, etc.), Human-Computer Interaction, related field or equivalent practical experience.
• ● Experience in leading the design of enterprise web applications.
• ● Experience in creating strategy and designing products, with a track record of key contributions to innovative and successful products or platforms.
• ● Experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows and process flows.
• ● Ability to communicate complex interaction concepts clearly and persuasively to different audiences.
• ● Experience working collaboratively with product managers and engineers.
• ● Attention to detail, great sense of humor, positive outlook and a team player.
• ● Good French and/or good English skills

Responsibilities:

• ● Design complex data products into web and mobile functional and user-centered products
• ● Design engaging landing pages for our users and Google algorithms
• ● Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Researchers to understand their needs, test solutions and assumptions
• ● Understand user needs, gathering requirements and translate these into user journeys and interfaces
• ● Define interaction models, user task flows, and UI specifications
• ● Use of tools, such as surveys and screen readers, to aid the research process and run user testing
• ● Manage project priorities, deadlines and deliverables
