Legal Counsel

We are looking for a Legal Counsel whose overall responsibility will be to provide general and commercial legal support to the management team. The ideal candidate will be able to provide legal advice to the management team on all areas of the company’s business.

Key Responsibilities:
• Draft, review, negotiate and manage a wide range of agreements, including but not limited to commercial/business agreements, procurement and services contracts, acquisitions/divestitures and commercial contracts.
• Ensure company compliance by adhering to all applicable domestic and international laws and regulations.
• Review, advise and follow-up matters including ongoing legal cases, direction of external counsels in multiple jurisdictions and advise the company management accordingly.
• Deal with external parties, including but not limited to external counsel, auditors, partners and contractors.
• Management of legal-related invoices, fees and payment contracts.
• Input into internal UK and Tunisian employment, financial and corporate matters
• Mitigation of past, present and future legal risk including ABC procedures

Qualifications:
• Qualified as a solicitor in the UK
• 5+ years’ experience working in oil and gas E&P (North African experience an advantage), with a sound knowledge of international legal precedents
• Strong pragmatic commercial experience and associated legal drafting skills
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities suitable for a small Head Office function
• High degree of professional ethics and integrity
• Fluent in English (working level French and/or Arabic would be of benefit)

Job Type:
• Permanent
• Reporting to the Commercial Director
• Based in Farnborough (fast train 35 minutes from Waterloo station)
• Periodic travel to Tunis
