Environmental & Social Impact Assessment Engineer

RINA is currently recruiting for a Environmental & Social Impact Assessment Engineer to join its office in Tunis within the Green Energy Solutions Division

Mission

Rina is currently seeking a full time Environmental Engineer who will form part of the Project Financing Environmental & Social Compliance team in Tunisia that collaborates with other RINA teams and is involved in various Environmental and Social Due diligence (ESDD) and Environmental & Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) projects across the globe.

Job Responsibilities

The role includes, but is not limited to the following:

• Evaluation and compliance with Lender’s social standards such as IFC Performance Standards, as well as external independent monitoring activities for the benefit of Lenders
• Conducting and evaluating Environmental Impact Assessments and Environmental Management Plans ESIA, Development of environmental and social management systems
• ESMP, within Africa countries in compliance with local legislation and the WB, Ebrd, EiB, Kfw, and so on
• Conducting climate change studies, Remediation studies,
• Development of proposals for the Environmental & Social Compliance Team
• Work with the different divisions in RINA to develop ‘cross selling’ and mutual opportunities with clients
• Offer RINA’s range of solutions across the customer base

Qualification

• Engineer degree in Environmental Science
• Minimum 3-5 years of extensive experience in ESIA, ESDD, External for Project Financing purposes

Experience:

• Technical and financial management of environmental projects (ESIA, ESMP, climate change, Remediation, etc.)
• Identification of experts, contractual follow-up of selected experts;
• Elaboration of the international and national calls for tenders
• Autonomous and self-motivated
• Strong communication skills; excellent technical writing skills
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work with a geographically dispersed team
• Ability to build and sustain client relationships and adapt to ever changing client demands
• Ability to see the opportunities for improved performance and act upon them
• Flexibility to travel, as needed
• Excellent capability in speaking & writing in English and French.
• Preference to be given to familiarity with Lender’s requirements
• Experience in the renewable energy sector is an advantage
• knowledge for the social component and climate change will be an advantage
