– Job Summary:

Ensure the implementation of the environmental management system regarding the IFC requirements and the local legal requirements.

– Job Description:

• Recording and tracking use of water, wastewater, electricity, and fuel resources.
• Performing inspections on project facilities, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure compliance with the requirements of CS policies.
• Ensuring that all project workers are aware of waste segregation methods, through conducting toolbox talks, morning meetings, safety moments, and refresher training as needed.
• Inspecting all waste storage areas on a weekly basis and recording results.
• Inspecting all waste transportation trucks on a weekly basis and recording results.

• Inspecting all emergency showers and eye washers on a weekly basis at hazardous waste storage areas and ensuring that they are working properly.
• Inspecting all spill kits on a weekly basis and ensuring that contents are replaced after an incident.
• Conducting monthly random checks through following wastewater trucks to ensure that they dispose at the agreed facilities.
• Ensuring activities undertaken onsite maintain minimum emission release/production practices in handling, transfer, and transport.
• Performing inspections on project facilities (storage, generators, stockpiling areas, machinery, earthworks equipment) to ensure compliance.
• Recording outcome of all inspections and reporting to the Environmental Leads.
• Conducting toolbox talks and morning meetings with workers on the CS project.
• Supervising the application of air emissions and air quality management procedures.
• Conducting inspections on maintenance certificates of all vehicles and machinery.
• Implementing dust suppression measures including the preparation of internal roads.

– Qualifications/ Competencies:

• BSc in, chemical Engineering, or Science.
• 2 to 5 years of experience within the area of Waste platforms/ Cement/ Iron and steel/ FMCG.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
• Excellent command of spoken and written English.
• Follow up, attention to details, well organized, assertive, and leader.
• Very Good analytical abilities.
• Problem-solving, Communication, and leadership skills.
