About the position:

We are looking for an intern to join our team in Tunisia HQ, where you will have the opportunity to develop your backend software engineering capabilities and contribute to our sharing platform for different staff such as bikes, cars, homes locks, etc. You’ll craft systems that serve and manage boatloads of requests from our connected locks and consumer-facing apps for our customers and partners. and display data to a monitoring dashboard.

About Our Internships:

• Our internships are paid.
• It is 6 months long, starting on or around Feb 1, 2020.

Who you are:  

• You have an understanding of object-oriented programming, algorithm, data structure. 
• You have hands-on backend development experience, including writing unit tests and integration with frameworks. 
• You have a good product sense and the vision to translate product goals into quality shippable code.
• Have a big interest in the Future of Mobility and sharing systems.
• Highly motivated, goal-driven, Adaptability, autonomous, and team spirit.

Your Responsibilities: 

• Building a highly available and scalable IoT platform, capable of connecting embedded devices using Spring Boot and ReactJs.
• Defining the necessary tests to ensure that your created software functions correctly.
• Develop robust systems that serve both our user-facing apps and our internal tools. 
• Closely monitor the performance of all critical parts of our stack and respond to system failures.
• Be diligent about tracking data so that we have a good look into how we can improve our products. 

Your Knowledge, Experience, and Skills:

We don’t expect you to tick every box in our current tech stack. What matters is that you have some experience as a developer, you like to learn, and know how to leverage your experience across technology stacks and languages.

Required: 

• Last year of an engineering diploma or master’s degree in computer science. 
• Familiarity and comfortable with ReactJs and a JVM-based language such as spring boot.
• Knowledge in computer science fundamentals: algorithm, data structure, object-oriented programming.
• Frontend technologies proficiency (HTML, CSS, Javascript, jQuery). 
• Solid relational database knowledge and experience with MySQL Passion for new technologies, and interest to learn new things such as the utilization of advanced messaging protocols (MQTT, …) as well as SOA-Architectures. 
• Good vibe and strong communication skills.
• Enthusiasm, flexibility, and passion to build the internet of things with Akkurad.

Nice to have, but not required: 

• Have GitHub or a similar account with sample code Have.
• Interest in Blockchain technology, and containerized technology as Docker.
• Optionally experience with NoSQL.
• Experience with Git and the collaborative GitHub workflow is an advantage but not required.
• Familiarity with IoT communications methods. 
• A creative mind.
