Senior HR Officer

The Role 
Reporting to the Head of HR and Admin Support Services, the candidate will be responsible for the provision of HR expertise encompassing all HR disciplines, including recruitment and selection, employee relations, workforce planning, organisational design and change, data analysis, and reporting. 

As a core member of the HR team, they will also be responsible for the implementation of HR policies and procedures, audit compliance, implementing best practice, and ensuring KPIs are met.

Analytical with keen attention to detail, the role holder should have extensive generalist experience in managing the recruitment process, administering contractual salary and benefits. The successful applicant will be adept at producing a variety of HR reports and using those reports to inform quality decision-making in the business.

Chartered member of the CIPD, with previous experience of HR management within further or higher education, in the UK public sector. The successful candidate will possess 

  • A minimum of 6-10 years’ experience with extensive knowledge of the entire employee lifecycle and best practice.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and consultation skills.

Desktop Support Technician


We are now inviting applicants for the post of Desktop Support Technician with an immediate start.

THE ROLE

  • To conduct periodic and ad-hoc maintenance to end user devices to resolve IT hardware and software problems with computers, within department time and quality standards.
  • Support users with their computers and other equipment (such as smart boards, printers etc.) through provision of advice, training and first level of IT support to their problems.
  • Escalate any complicated problems to the Vendors or Network and Server Support personnel as and when required to ensure the reported issues are resolved.
  • Maintain a good knowledge of IT application packages and regularly update the desktop infrastructure at AKIS to ensure that all desktops at AKIS are maintained as per the latest technology.

  • Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate departmental statements and reports to meet AKIS and department requirements, policies and standards.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT or related discipline
  • 3 years’ experience in desktop support operations
  • Mac OSX support experience advantageous
  • MCSE certification is required preferred

System Administrator


THE ROLE

The System Administrator will be responsible for the operations support implementation, administration, troubleshooting and maintenance of AKIS networks to ensure uninterrupted performance and availability of the network services at all times.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Ensure the implementation of relevant department policies and procedures to ensure the delivery of a quality, cost-effective service to internal customers
  • Create new accounts for users, delete accounts, reinitialize password accounts and specify responsibilities as per superior’s instructions and established policies and procedures.
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
  • Install new and rebuild existing servers and configure services, settings, directories, servers, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and business/operational requirements.
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all server resources, systems and key processes to ensure system efficiency and reliability
  • Perform core business solution maintenance in order to ensure consistent productivity of the applications and systems such as Active Directory, E-mail system, Proxy, security solution, etc.
  • Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary.
  • Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.
  • Resolve issues with end users’ email, shared files and internal applications ensuring that these are adequately addressed and resolved.
  • Assist in recommending projects that will ensure the continuity of operations (Inclusive of disaster recovery plans) in order to ensure uninterrupted operations at all times.
  • Monitor the technical support provided by contractors/vendors and their representatives and maintain relations with them ensuring that they are providing AKIS with an efficient and effective service.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented systems to enable all records and rationales of changes to be available for future reference.
  • Prepare relevant statements and reports timely and accurately to meet departmental requirements, policies and standards.
  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of services and systems taking into account ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, achievement of business objectives cost reduction and productivity improvement.
  • Ensure all relevant safety, quality and environmental policies, procedures and controls are adhered to so that employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude can be guaranteed.

THE CANDIDATE

  • 7-15 years of experience in system administration or similar position
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field

We are seeking a Network Administrator for our School.

THE ROLE

The Network Administrator will be responsible for the operations support implementation, administration, troubleshooting and maintenance of AKIS networks to ensure uninterrupted performance and availability of the network services at all times.

  • IT Network operations support, troubleshooting network incidents and problems, Monitoring network, performance and analysis, Identifying and resolving network problems escalating problems to vendor if required.

  • Plan and implement regular maintenance programs and schedules for the network, involving both, the network team as well as vendors through maintenance contracts.

THE CANDIDATE

  • 6 to 10 years of experience in Enterprise IT Network and security. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or relevant field.
  • CCNA certification must. CCNP and ITIL certifications will be an added advantage.
  • Detailed knowledge and hands on experiences on enterprise LAN network and security devices (NGFG Firewalls, Cisco switches & routers, VPN, IPS, Proxy, Cisco Wireless etc.).
  • ITIL, incident and change management skills.

THE ROLE

The role holder will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating transcripts through the exams office.
  • Coordinating references and reference writing through subject teachers and form tutors.
  • Coordinating careers fairs, events and visiting speakers.
  • Coordinating option choices and career planning through KS5 housemaster.
  • Continuing with present, and establishing new, links with universities regionally and internationally.

They will also have experience in training and providing ongoing assistance for quality assurance.
