RBK is a program for motivated students interested in careers in software engineering or computer programming. In four months, we transform ambitious amateurs to coding professionals.
We are the premier advanced immersive program that produces market-ready full-stack Software Engineers with key skill sets demanded by industry. Students train 12+ hours a day, 6 days a week, over 13 weeks in a curriculum focused on computer science fundamentals and JavaScript.

We are looking for a Junior Software Engineer (HIR) to train youth in Tunisia in JavaScript fundamentals and engineering best practices.
HIRs are primarily responsible for ensuring students are technically prepared for a successful job search and career in the software industry. HIRs are student-facing members of the team — building culture, coaching success behaviors, and talking code. They understand the principles of eXtreme Learning and use Socratic dialog to guide discovery.
The HIR works closely with a small classroom of students across the entire length of the program, and is partly responsible for the educational and hireability outcome of the student as well as the strength of the community. The HIR works with the Technical Mentor and Cohort Lead on a day-to-day basis to ensure everyone is learning rapidly and is on track for success. When a student gets a job after the program, it is the core teaching staff that they thank with the deepest emotion.
Responsibilities
- Work with other instructional team members to deliver the curriculum
- Promote Guided Discovery, eXtreme Learning and a Socratic dialog approach to learning
- Ensure students are technically prepared for the job search
- Accurately, consistently, and proactively ensure student success and encourage autonomous learning
- Provide technical and project management guidance to small groups of students building exciting projects using cutting-edge technologies
- Proactively track & communicate student progress using program workflow, including grading, feedback, and modeling successful behavior
- Monitor emotional health of students through the day, sprint, week and program
- Work to achieve flow with core facilitator team including Tech Mentor, Class Coordinator and other HIRs.
- Remediation and Support: Build and execute student action and remediation plans to ensure that all of our students become successful software engineers
- Curriculum Generation: Help build & deliver materials and lectures addressing popular technologies and cohort-specific needs
- Collaboration: Serve as technical partner to all other departments that ensure job search success
Qualifications
- Fluent English skills
- Junior software engineer, strong JavaScript knowledge, familiarity with emerging technologies like: Javascript, React, Redux, Typescript, Angular, MongoDB, NodeJS, SQL, Docker, AWS
- High quality of problem solving skills
- Experience with industry-standard software development practices and methodologies like Agile, Scrum and Kanban
- Ability to model student progress and remove educational roadblocks
- Empathy and charisma
- Passion for education and service
- Skilled and engaging facilitator/lecturer
- Can-do attitude and a sense of humor
